Social Impact: Supply Chain

Implementing effective risk management in the supply chain is crucial to promoting social sustainability in corporate activities. As a global B2B omnichannel distributor, TAKKT places a high priority on transparency in its value chain and assumes responsibility at the various levels of its business activities in order to avoid risks and achieve positive social impacts in the procurement and distribution of goods in the future.

TAKKT works closely with suppliers across its business units to ensure sustainability in the supply chain. TAKKT assesses the sustainability performance of suppliers using internationally recognized certifications such as EcoVadis, which consider several criteria, including environmental impact, labor practices, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The assessment improves transparency and helps TAKKT identify supply chain risks, streamline processes, and collaborate with suppliers to implement socially and environmentally sustainable practices. TAKKT has been in full compliance with all stipulations of the German Supply Chain Act since 2023.

But even beyond the regulatory requirements, sustainable supplier certifications support a central corporate goal of TAKKT: By 2025, 40 percent of TAKKT's purchasing volume is to be sourced from sustainably certified suppliers. This way, TAKKT aims to support the development potential of its suppliers and identify suitable partners for a sustainable supply chain.

TAKKT is also taking the lead itself using the certification to evaluate its own business activities. For example, the kaiserkraft Group (incl. Gerdmans and Runelandhs) was awarded a gold medal in the EcoVadis Sustainability Rating 2022 in recognition of its CSR successes. With this result, kaiserkraft is among the top 3 percent of all EcoVadis certified companies and positions itself as a role model for the industry.

Social Impact: Employees

Shaped by the five core behaviors, TAKKT strives for a culture of open feedback, empowerment, collaboration, and transparency. TAKKT has also set itself the goal of creating “new worlds of work” for its employees within the company. In addition to modern office equipment, this also includes flexible working models. Whether in the office, at home, on the train or in a café – many of our employees already appreciate the hybrid workplace design.

Dedicated employees are the key to TAKKT’s corporate success. That is why TAKKT's talent management aims to identify, promote, and develop the potential of its employees. With talent conferences, employee management dialogues as well as professional and individual training measures, TAKKT offers its employees development opportunities and opens up new career paths. TAKKT places high value on a diverse understanding of leadership and upholds the principle of equal opportunities, where competence and references are the criteria for personnel decisions. At present, the focus of TAKKT’s diversity management is on increasing the share of women in executive positions. In addition to corresponding recruitment activities, this also involves specifically empowering female junior staff for the next step in their career. The aim is to increase the share of women in executive positions to 45 percent by 2025 and 50 percent by 2026. With the concept of shared leadership, TAKKT also enables part-time employees to take on management positions. This development is complemented by the possibility of shared positions.
